Rochester native and Rochester City School District graduate has launched a new program designed to invest in Rochester's youth.
Gerald Moore, Sr. founded Mission Fulfilled 2030. The program teaches students how to start their own tech company. Moore graduated from Edison Tech. He says he wasn't the best student, but he went on to earn a degree in engineering.
Moore says he wants to show young Black men, in particular, what the future holds. He says representation matters.
"One of the biggest things that needs to change is, representation matters," Moore said. "Black males make up less than 2% of the public school workforce, and Black males make up less than 5% of the high tech and STEM workforce. So, I think in order for at-risk kids and underserved and untapped talent, we need to see representation," said Moore. Click Here for Full Article - MF2030 feature starts at 11:08
